Squire Sanders has significant experience in the increasingly important areas of e-commerce and data protection. Our global reach makes us especially well positioned to help clients comply with differing legal requirements in various regions and countries. We counsel clients regarding laws and regulations in Europe, the Americas and Asia governing privacy, the protection of customer proprietary network information and other personally identifiable information collected by operators of communications networks and other databases.
We assisted one of the largest trade associations in the United States in conducting a comprehensive audit of its privacy and data protection policies and practices. Once the audit was completed, we developed policies and practices, as well as standard contract templates that comply with the requirements of applicable legislation in the United States, the European Union and Asia.
In addition, we recently developed a compliance program that enabled a pan-European telecommunications operator to meet data protection/retention requirements in each of the Member States in which it operates.
