William Bateman

Associate

Will Bateman’s practice cover all areas of both contentious and non-contentious employment law.

He is experienced in defending Tribunal claims, advising on TUPE obligations (in both business transfer and outsourcing contexts) and providing assistance in collective and individual redundancy consultations and executive terminations.  Will is also experienced in drafting service agreements, compromise agreements and working on corporate support matters as well as providing general employment advice.

Will regularly speaks at the firm’s seminars and provides “in-house” training to clients.  He has recently spoken at external events organised by a leading provider of legal training.  Will is a member of the Employment Lawyer’s Association.

Representative Experience

    • Spent 4 months “in-house” at a well-known bank, providing employment law support during a period of unprecedented change in respect of its employees.
    • Assisted a national retailer in relation to sex discrimination allegations from its Head of HR and the subsequent negotiations and compromise agreement.
    • Successfully defended a pan-European PLC against multiple disability discrimination and sexual orientation claims from a serial Claimant.
    • Advised a major utilities company in successful High Court proceedings against former employees in a “team move” situation.
    • Advised an international food and drink manufacturer on compliance with its TUPE obligations in connection with the outsourcing of a major part of its operation.
    • Successfully defended a significant claim for final salary pension loss.
