Wendy Ovenden

Wendy is an Associate in the pensions practice based in the Birmingham office. Wendy joined the practice as a trainee solicitor in 2001. Wendy advises on all areas of pensions law, advising both trustees of occupational pension plans and employers in respect of their pension arrangements.
Representative Experience
- Advising on a complicated merger of six defined benefit occupational pension plans, involving the provision of French parent company guarantees.
- Advising on the establishment of a common investment fund for eight pension plan participants, with provision for liability driven investment.
- Advising several clients on various methods of derisking pension plans including closure to future accrual.
- Advising in relation to the consequences of employer withdrawal, including the application of employer debt legislation and advising on putting in place a "scheme apportionment arrangement".
Wendy is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
