Thomas Liu has focused on labor and employment law for more than 20 years. Thomas advises non-US and US companies on all aspects of labor and employment litigation and counseling including wrongful termination, employment discrimination and harassment claims, drafting of employment contracts, employee handbooks, consulting agreements, severance agreements and disciplinary policies. Thomas has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters.

Thomas works with clients in the transportation industry including several global airlines, shipping lines, freight forwarders and travel agencies; the hospitality industry including hotels and restaurants; the food industry; the multilevel marketing industry; manufacturing companies; and employment agencies. He also leads the Los Angeles China Development Practice Group.

Thomas has led numerous management training and sexual harassment training classes for many companies and is frequently asked to speak on labor and employment matters.

Thomas represents clients in federal and state courts on collective bargaining and union-related litigation, wrongful termination lawsuits and employment discrimination claims. He also practices before the National Labor Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, Federal and California Labor Departments, California Employment Development Department and various arbitration tribunals.

Thomas is a member of the State Bar of California, the Japanese-American Bar Association, the Chinese Lawyers Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section.
