Tomasz Hatylak’s practice focuses on tax law including value added tax (VAT), corporate, income tax, financial services taxation and tax litigation. He also has experience supervising tax audits, drafting transfer pricing documentation, advising on tax planning projects, and performing tax and legal due diligence examinations. Tomasz has conducted training sessions on financial services, international taxation and VAT. He was recognized for his tax practice in Poland in Chambers Europe 2010. Tomasz is a member of the International Fiscal Association.

Prior to joining Squire Sanders, Tomasz was a senior lawyer in charge of the tax department in the Warsaw office of an international finance and business law firm.

Representative Experience

• Providing complex advice to the concessionaire of the A2 Toll Motorway during negotiation of the construction and operation agreement for Section II of the A2 Toll Motorway; and tax optimization of the concessionaire's agreements with the main building work contractor.Ÿ  Advising Telekomunikacja Polska SA on a project for sale and lease back of teletechnical infrastructure.
• Providing comprehensive tax advice to BeijingWest Industries Co. during the negotiation and acquisition of production plants in Poland.
• Preparing, during an assignment contracted by the Capital City of Warsaw, a comprehensive analysis of the options for implementation of a sale and lease back project for communal real property.
• Providing comprehensive tax advice to Tata Consultancy Limited regarding VAT and optimization of tax settlements between a branch and head office of a foreign business.
• Advising Wendre Poland Sp. z o.o. in proceedings relating to tax relief for an investment in a special economic zone.
• Providing comprehensive legal and tax advice to Purcell AG in connection with an investment in a special economic zone.
• Providing comprehensive tax advice for a private equity investor on a tax optimization project for merging subsidiaries.
