Supinder Sian

Senior Associate

Supinder Sian is a senior associate in the Labour & Employment Team specialising in Business Immigration based in our London office.  Supinder has over 6 years' experience in Business Immigration. He has a wealth of experience and has extensive knowledge of both Immigration and compliance issues. He advises on applications for entry clearance, extensions of stay, switching visa categories, indefinite leave to remain and naturalisation as a British citizen. He is also advises on business and commercial immigration matters under the Points Based System and has made numerous licence applications for both start up and existing companies and regularly carries out compliance audits for clients.

In addition to in-bound UK immigration, Supinder has experience in advising on and co-ordinating immigration applications globally.

Supinder has excellent contacts at the UK Border Agency at Director level, which often leads to a speedy resolution of complex issues. Supinder has also participated in the UK Border Agency’s Working Groups on key immigration issues.

Supinder regularly speaks as part of the department's national seminar programme. He is also frequently invited to speak at conferences and provides bespoke in house training to his clients.

Representative Experience

    • Undertaking large scale Illegal working audits and advising on and implementing stream-lined right to work check procedures
    • Advising one of the UK’s largest private employers with regard to Illegal workers and liaising with the UK Border Agency to resolve issues surrounding the employment of Illegal migrants and assisting with a successful review against a civil penalty imposed by the UK Border Agency
    • Advising on procedural and strategic issues arising out of the acquisition of migrant worker staff under TUPE
    • Acting for a number of client’s in respect of their application for a Points Based System Licence and the administration of the license as a Level 1 user and Key Contact
    • Securing the re-instatement of a sponsor licence following suspension and down-grading through in-depth negotiations with the UK Border Agency, thus preventing the loss of millions of pounds in revenue for the client.
    • Advising a global communications company on the transfer of 18 key employees of various nationalities to different locations around the world as part of a rolling 3-year graduate fellowship programme.
    • Invited by the UK Border Agency to join their working group on the Resident Labour Market Test.
