Stephen is a lawyer in the corporate finance team based in our Manchester office. His practice covers all types of mergers and acquisitions, private equity, public company matters and general company law advisory work. He has assisted vendors, buyers and investors on a wide range of corporate transactions, including acting as lead assistant on several acquisitions and disposals and working on complex group reorganisations.

In 2010 Stephen spent several months on secondment to the in-house legal team at SSL International plc, a leading consumer brands group. Stephen also spent several months in the corporate team in our Paris office, working on a number of significant international corporate transactions.

Stephen is a member of the Manchester office charity committee and is actively involved with several charitable and fundraising activities including the "Business Action on Homelessness" project and a reading partnering scheme for pupils at a local primary school.

• Advising a leading US manufacturer of oil and gas industry components on its acquisition of a UK oilfield equipment manufacturer and its investment in an offshore engineering consultancy.
• Advising a major NYSE-listed manufacturer on the reorganisation of its UK corporate structure.
• Assisting Kemira on its purchase of Albemarle UK.
• Providing due diligence support on the £220m sale of INEOS Fluor to Mexichem.
• Acting for ISIS Equity Partners on its investment in Getting Personal.
• Acting for the shareholders of Jackson Lloyd on its sale to Mears Group.
• Advising GB Group plc on its move from the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange to AIM.
• Assisting Thomson on its Indonesian-based joint venture to combine its can tuner module business with that of NXP Semiconductor.
