Stacie Yee

Senior Associate

Stacie Yee focuses her practice on labor and employment law matters as well as complex commercial litigation. She represents employers in wrongful discharge, discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour litigation. She has experience representing companies and individuals in noncompetition/trade secret misappropriation litigation, both in pursuit of clients’ claims for relief as well as defending against claims brought by others. Stacie has successfully represented employers in state administrative proceedings and in state court. She is experienced in the strategic use of pretrial law and motion practice and has experience representing clients in depositions, mediation and arbitration, as well as at trial. She also provides preventative employment law advice to clients including through employment policy, employee handbook and employment agreement drafting and review.

Stacie has written presentations and spoken on wage and hour, trade secret misappropriation, disability discrimination and family leave topics. She has provided sexual harassment and discrimination training to numerous clients.

In 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011, she was selected as a Rising Star by Southern California Super Lawyers.

Before joining Squire Sanders, Stacie served as a judicial extern for The Honorable Earl Johnson Jr. of the California Court of Appeals.

She is a member of the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment and Section of Litigation.

Representative Experience

    • Obtaining summary judgment on all claims for national origin discrimination brought by a job applicant against a temporary help agency.
    • Representing an employer at trial in a workers’ compensation insurance premium dispute involving issues regarding classification of employees.
    • Representing service and retail clients and management employees in the defense of wrongful termination and discrimination actions, particularly claims of disability discrimination, race or national origin discrimination and gender discrimination.
    • Representing manufacturing and service clients in the defense and prosecution of trade secret/misappropriation litigation.
    • Representing city and public entities in a breach of contract suit against the largest real estate developer in West Covina including assisting in successfully disposing of a cross-complaint against clients on demurrer. In a related case, assisted in a successful anti-SLAPP motion resulting in dismissal of a taxpayer lawsuit filed against the city, public entities and city council members involving the alleged violation of California’s conflict of interest statutes, the Political Reform Act of 1974 and regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
