Squire Sanders Announces New Global Leadership Appointments

25 January 2012

Squire Sanders has named a new managing partner for the US LLP and two new members of the legal practice’s global board.

Stephen C. Mahon is managing partner charged with overseeing strategic operations for the US LLP, replacing Howard J.C. Nicols, who recently retired from Squire Sanders. Mahon also serves on the Squire Sanders 14-member global board.

The new global board members are London-based corporate partner David M. Wack and Paris-based corporate partner Charles Fabry. Wack and Fabry replace global board members whose terms ended.

“Squire Sanders, like other global legal practices, operates in a rapidly changing business environment. One of Squire Sanders’ strengths is that we can count on lawyers like Steve, David and Charles, who are willing and more than able to take on demanding leadership roles to help the firm achieve its goals,” said James J. Maiwurm, Squire Sanders chair and CEO.

Mahon held several leadership roles before being named global managing partner including a four-year stint on Squire Sanders management committee and as a practice leader. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and hedge fund investing and corporate finance. He works in the firm’s offices in New York and Ohio.

Fabry is a corporate partner in the Squire Sanders Paris office. His practice focuses on private equity and venture capital. Wack is a corporate partner based in the London and Moscow offices and focuses his practice on cross-border transactions with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate finance and capital markets transactions in Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union.
