The Palo Alto and San Francisco offices offer a combined summer program affording law students an opportunity to practice in a Silicon Valley office as well as a downtown setting in one of the world's premier cities.

Our San Francisco office is best known for its representation of international clients, especially those located in Pacific Rim countries, in all areas of practice including both business and litigation. In recent years we have developed an extensive US practice encompassing corporate, financial and securities work; commercial litigation; labor and employment; immigration; and intellectual property.

Our summer program is designed to provide law students with meaningful and challenging work experiences similar to those of first-year associates. Summer associates are given the opportunity to explore their individual interest by choosing their own projects. Regular feedback, including written evaluations of each completed project, is an integral component of our program. Training programs specifically designed for summer associates are standard and include legal writing and research, negotiations and advocacy techniques. Summer associates are encouraged to attend practice group meetings and associate training programs, as well as court hearings, trials and arbitrations, depositions and client meetings.

The San Francisco eight week summer program is highly competitive.

Summer associate compensation is competitive with the local market.
