Simon's expertise focuses on corporate finance, including all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity, reorganisations, public sector funding and corporate governance and regulation.

Representative Experience

  • Advising private equity firm Gresham LLP on its £32.5 million cross border management buy out of Team Telecom Group from Spice plc.
  • Advising Advantage West Midlands on its investment of UK and European Regional Development Funding into several investment funds with a combined investment potential in excess of £25 million, managed by venture capital firm Midven, to provide equity and debt funding to small and medium sized enterprises in the West Midlands.
  • Acting for a leading private healthcare business on its acquisition of a specialist oncology clinic for £25 million and the associated £65 million reorganisation of its UK oncology consultancy and treatment business.
  • Advising a Birmingham based property developer on its £10 million investment into a regeneration fund for the joint regeneration and development of a site located within Birmingham for the creation of the new hotel, operated by a well known world wide hotel brand.
  • Advising the Regional Development Agencies in the Midlands on their £40 million joint investment and backing of the Manufacturing Technology Centre; a collaborative business venture between the Regional Development Agencies, the Welding Institute, several Midlands universities and the private sector (including Rolls Royce, Airbus and Aero Engine Controls Limited) to develop a world leading aerospace manufacturing technology centre.
  • Advising Clarity Commerce Solutions plc on its £3.5 million placing of shares on AIM.
