Shigehito (Shig) Onimura has substantial experience in international business and compliance issues. He represents Japan-based Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive parts suppliers and electronics manufacturers in multijurisdictional contract and warranty disputes, and supply matters. As outside general counsel for a number of multinational corporations, Shig advises on a broad range of litigation and business transactions including a discrimination suit, plant closures, asset sales and acquisitions, patent licensing, accounts receivable factoring and put option, and other commercial transactions. Shig is also familiar with internal investigations of antitrust and securities law violations and serves as co-counsel to major automotive manufacturers in international cartel investigations. Additionally, he has extensive experience in researching and drafting documents for employment-based visas.

Shig has conducted seminars on financially distressed businesses, cross-border supply issues and compliance with government regulations for Japan-based businesses. He has also presented on purchase order terms and conditions, antitrust laws, license agreements, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, trade secrets and bankruptcy at legal seminars.
