Dr. Sebastian Buder is a partner in the Labour & Employment Practice Group based in our Berlin office. He focuses his practice on litigation and counseling in all aspects of German labour and employment law, as well as related fields such as pensions and social security law. His particular expertise covers advising national and international corporations on all aspects of individual and collective employment law issues. He has significant litigation practice in all these areas. He has also many years of experience in providing legal advice to clients in the hotel industry, logistic industry as well as service sectors.
Sebastian advises on restructurings of companies and their workforce, lay-offs and negotiations with works councils in the context of co-determination including the negotiation of reconciliation of interests and social plans as well as representing clients in conciliations board procedures. He provides specialist advice in TUPE issues. Sebastian also regularly advises national and international companies in mergers and acquisitions, with respect to labour and employment law and pensions.
In addition Sebastian has extensive experience in advising employers on union and works council issues, implementation of code of conducts, discrimination, employment contracts, hiring and termination, severance and separation agreements, benefits and bonus models, working hour issues, outsourcing, compliance issues, employee leasing and he covers the full horizon of work place labour and employment law issues. He frequently represents clients before the labour courts in Germany. Sebastian also provides specialist advice in relation to company pension issues.
He is a certified specialist in employment law (Fachanwalt für Arbeitsrecht).
