Sarah has extensive experience of advising trustees and corporates on a diverse range of issues surrounding pensions, including costs and legislation-driven exercises and active management of complex and innovative restructuring solutions. Her main specialism is advising in respect of defined benefit pension arrangements, in recent times focussing on a range of deficit management strategies.

As part of the advisory team supporting the Confederation of British Industry's pension panel on matters of pensions law and policy Sarah has been actively involved in lobbying for changes to pensions policy on behalf of clients.
Sarah is a full member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
As an active member of the regional community impact team, Sarah also leads voluntary work in the community with the charitable organisation Business in the Community.
Representative Experience
- Advising on the pension aspects of the complex disposal of certain non-core businesses within an international multi-utility group ensuring expeditious completion and group reinvestment in the business.
- Active management of the complex and innovative restructuring issues associated with the planned entry of a pension plan to the Pension Protection Fund.
- Advising pension plan trustees on the implications of the cessation of pension accrual, apportionment of statutory debts and negotiating a guarantee from a foreign parent company.
