Samantha Smart is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with a strong background in supporting companies across all industries in commercial transactions and corporate governance, particularly across the resources sector.
Samantha specialises in advising in relation to public and private mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, farm-in arrangements, joint venture structuring and secondary capital raisings. Samantha also regularly provides advice to clients on a broad variety of corporate law issues and corporate governance risk mitigation, including directors' duties, continuous disclosure requirements, company secretarial matters and general regulatory compliance issues involving the Corporations Act and the ASX Listing Rules.
Samantha is a member of the Australian Mining and Petroleum Law Association (AMPLA), the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies Inc (AMEC) and The Law Society of Western Australia.
Samantha is also a co-author of several articles published in various energy periodicals.

Assisted Onsite Rental Group in relation to its AU$70 million acquisition of Statewide Equipment Hire, a company specializing in supplying equipment to the mining, construction and industrial sectors.

Assisting listed company bioMD Limited in their successful off-market scrip-based takeover bid for Perth-based public unlisted company Allied Limited.

Assisting in advising Lachlan Star Ltd in relation to its acquisition of DMC Newco Pty Ltd, the owner of the CMD gold mine project in Chile.

Assisting ASX-listed AusQuest Limited, a listed exploration company, in the preparation and negotiation of documents for an exploration joint venture with Cliffs Natural Resources Exploration Inc, a US-based iron ore producer, in Southwest Peru.
