Squire Sanders is pleased to host a live webcast of the Practicing Law Institute’s (PLI) “How to Read Financial Statements.” Financial statements provide great insight into the financial activities of a corporation. For some corporations, these statements may be complex and can require extensive review. At this seminar, a distinguished panel of experts will provide a primer on understanding and interpreting the three primary financial statements: balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements. The panelists will discuss key elements that all lawyers should consider when encountering these financial statements in the course of common corporate transactions and litigation.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Calculating EBITDA and free cash flow
  • Evaluating key ratio and income metrics, including EBITDA margins and leverage ratios
  • Analyzing financial metrics and qualitative factors that can be potential warning signs
