Christina Henagen Peer

Christina Peer focuses her practice on private and public sector labor and employment law as well as school law. She has represented private and public sector employers in a variety of labor and employment matters including defense of employment discrimination claims brought under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and other claims arising from terminations. Christina also defends employers against complaints of discrimination filed with the EEOC and state civil rights commissions. She also frequently provides training to employers regarding compliance with various discrimination laws.
In addition to her labor and employment law practice, Christina represents boards of education in all facets of school law. She provides counsel to boards of education on student discipline, collective bargaining agreements, employee grievances, the First Amendment and the drafting and implementation of board policies. With a particular emphasis on special education law, Christina counsels boards of education on all aspects of state and federal laws relating to the education of disabled students. She also represents school districts before state and federal agencies in special education matters.
In 2010, Christina was recognized as a Rising Star by Ohio Super Lawyers magazine, a distinction that recognizes the top 2.5 percent of Ohio lawyers under the age of 40 or those in practice for 10 years or less. She also appears in The Best Lawyers in America 2012.
Christina is a member of the Labor and Employment Section of the Ohio State Bar Association. She is also on the Executive Committee of the Ohio Council of School Board Attorneys. She is an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she teaches a course on disability laws.
