Robin is an Associate in our Real Estate group based in our Leeds and Manchester offices. His particular expertise is as a planning lawyer working within three broad disciplines namely Planning, Energy and Compulsory Purchase.
Robin has been involved in several major commercial developments schemes for retail and mixed use developments promoted by large commercial operators. Specifically, he advises in relation to necessary planning and statutory agreements to enable development to proceed.
He has gained experience within the Energy sector. He has been involved in several applications for renewable energy schemes providing support by way of due diligence, application and environmental statement review, day to day running of appeals including advising on proofs of evidence. Robin also has experience as advocate at hearings.
Robin has assisted in gaining planning permission for a contentious liquefied gas storage project including negotiation of a multi million pound section 106 agreement. He has also secured planning permission for a bio ethanol energy scheme and energy from waste schemes. He also regularly represents regional electricity network operators at wayleave hearings and acts as advocate for the attention of existing lines and for proposed lines including associated section 37 applications and tree hearings.
Robin’s energy clients include Wind Prospect Developments Limited, Ridgewind Limited, E.On Climate and Renewables UK and Vireol.
