Rebecca Clark

Senior Associate

Rebecca Clark is a qualified solicitor advocate with rights of audience in the Higher Courts in England. She specialises in domestic and international commercial and corporate disputes, with particular experience in multi-case mediation and international arbitration. She has acted for companies and individuals from many different sectors including oil and gas, retail, manufacturing, banking and financial services.

In 2005, Rebecca set up her own successful retail business from scratch, winning an award for Best New Business in 2006 and the highly prestigious Drapers award for Best National Kidswear Retailer in 2009. After selling the business in 2010, Rebecca returned to Squire Sanders, having previously worked at the firm from 1998 to 2003.

     International
    • Acting for the purchasers of a major international oil and gas business with assets of c.US$1.5 bn in a complex LCIA arbitration disputing ownership.
    • Advising corporate shareholders in relation to a potential claim for expropriation of assets against a State.

    Domestic

    • Acting for a healthcare company in relation to a complex tax dispute with HMRC and its professional advisors.
    • Managing and supervising a large multi-case professional negligence project for a Claimant bank. 
    • Advising companies and individuals on the enforcement of restrictive covenants upon exit from a company.
    • Managing a high value, multi-case professional negligence mediation for a Defendant.
    • Advising companies in relation to high value warranty claims.
    • Advising several large manufacturing companies following the sale of and/or the receipt of faulty goods, causing significant damage to manufacturing processes.
    • Advising several large retail clients in relation to disputes with suppliers and corporate customers.
    • Advising a firm of financial advisors in relation to potentially negligent investment advice.
    • Acting for directors of a family company in a claim against fellow directors for conflict of interest (Bhullar v Bhullar EWCA Civ 424).
