R. Thomas Stanton recently completed a 20-year term as chair/vice chair of Squire Sanders. Under his leadership, the firm significantly expanded its global practice position throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. Tom also served as managing partner of the New York office from 1982 to 1989.

Tom’s legal practice includes infrastructure and project finance. He has served as counsel to underwriters and issuers on major financings and development projects throughout the United States and as outside counsel to The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, which represents underwriters and dealers in equity and fixed-income securities in all of the world’s capital markets.

Tom is a board member or trustee of numerous community and business organizations including the Ohio Business Roundtable, the Musical Arts Association and University Circle, Inc. He also serves on the board of Northwestern University Law School and is a past member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of Case Western Reserve Law School. He is listed in the 2013 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
