Qun (Helen) Liu

Qun (Helen) Liu focuses her practice on intellectual property matters including counseling as well as drafting and prosecuting patent applications. She offers direct experience with patent prosecution both in the United States and around the world including Europe, China, Australia, Japan and Canada. Helen also assists clients in managing their patent portfolios and provides infringement and validity analysis.

Helen advises clients in a broad range of industries including chemical, pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, polymer, electronic engineering and nanotechnology.

Helen was a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office where she examined patent applications in the technical areas of polymer chemistry and polymer composition.

Prior to entering into the practice of law, Helen was a research chemist at a pharmaceutical company, where she conducted medicinal chemistry research targeting cancers, diabetes and neurological disorders. Helen is a co-inventor of a number of pharmaceutical inventions and a co-author of a number of articles published in scholarly journals including the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters.
