Qasim is a lawyer in our Property department. His main area of expertise is in the renewable energy sector, in particular wind farm development. Qasim has over 4 years experience of assisting wind farm developers with the acquisition of sites and taking options and leases over potential wind farm sites. Qasim has also assisted wind farm developers with the day-to-day dealings and negotiations which inevitably arise in the management of wind farms sites, for example, negotiating and entering into grants of easements over adjoining lands, obtaining consents from landlords and dealing with local authorities where appropriate, for example in indentifying the extent of public rights of access over certain roads and access ways.
Qasim is also experienced in landlord and tenant law and also has experience of advising public sector clients on dealing with public sector development and grant funding.
Representative Experience
- Title investigation, negotiation, drafting and entering into of a Wind Farm Lease at High Haswell including the drafting of all ancillary documents
- Title investigation, negotiation and drafting of an option for a Wind Farm Lease at Frodsham
- Title investigation, negotiation and drafting of an option for a Wind Farm Lease at High Pow, Wigton, Cumbria including the drafting of ancillary documents there to such as a decommissioning bond
- Negotiation and drafting of Deeds of Easement for access over adjoining lands to ensure that a Wind Project could be developed
- Negotiation and drafting of an Option for a Deed of Easement relating to access which will be exercised if an adjoining Wind Farm Project is developed
- Liaising and corresponding with solicitors acting for a mining company to ensure that their project does not negatively impact on client’s proposed Wind Farm Project on an adjoining site
