Jonathan M. Makarowitz concentrates his practice in community development lending, asset-based lending and real estate finance. He has substantial experience with complex construction loan transactions for affordable housing projects in New York City, especially with subsidized building projects for the low to middle income markets of New York’s five boroughs.

Mr. Makarowitz has considerable experience with the workings of several government programs including the New Foundations Program, NEP Program, Homeworks, Third Party Transfer Program, the Participation Loan Program, the New Homes Program and programs using low income housing tax credit bond issues. In the course of his practice each year, he completes hundreds of construction loan transactions ranging from US$1 million to US$150 million in value. In addition he handles complex multimillion-dollar asset-based lending transactions and also works on financings related to corporate restructurings. As lender’s counsel for major financial institutions, Mr. Makarowitz has provided assistance in many complex single bank and syndicated asset-based lending facilities.
