Preston Thomas’ practice focuses on a range of telecommunications matters including regulatory and transactional work related to satellite, wireless and wireline issues, as well as data security and privacy in both the public and private sectors.
As a senior consultant to IBM Corporation prior to joining Squire Sanders, Preston managed security and privacy policy and compliance on projects for state, federal and corporate clients. Preston also held internships with the Office of the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission and the Policy Leadership Division of the US Department of State.
Preston authored “Little Brother’s Big Books: The Case for a Right of Audit in Private Databases,” published in volume 18.1 (2009) of the
CommLaw Conspectus.
Preston is admitted to California, and working under the supervision of members of the DC Bar pending admission in the District of Columbia.
