ABOUT THE CLEVELAND SUMMER PROGRAM

Cleveland is where Andrew Squire, William B. Sanders and James Dempsey founded their law practice on January 1, 1890. Now situated at the northeast corner of Public Square, our Cleveland office in the Key Tower dominates the skyline and overlooks the city’s most recognized landmarks: Progressive Field, Quicken Loans Arena and Cleveland Browns Stadium, the Terminal Tower, the Old Stone Church, the Cuyahoga River, the Flats industry and entertainment district and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

Squire Sanders’ diverse Cleveland practice encompasses extensive work in many areas, with impressive concentrations in corporate, litigation, public law, environmental, tax and labor and employment law.

The Cleveland office also is the seat of many of the firm’s practice areas and several firm and practice leaders, a distinction evident in the many significant matters our lawyers have handled and recognition they have earned in recent years.

Our Summer Program

The Cleveland office hires summer associates each year including a few talented first-year students to supplement the summer program.  Summer associate compensation is competitive with the local market.  The Cleveland program lasts for eight weeks.

While the summer associate experience differs from office to office, it is not uncommon for several summer associates in the Cleveland office to be given the opportunity to travel to client and other office locations, working with lawyers and other professionals based throughout the US and abroad. We also attempt to expose each summer associate to both transactional and advocacy matters, while also developing their own individual practice group interests.
