Paul Muscutt is a specialist in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious insolvency, with a focus in the banking and asset based lending sectors. Paul joined the Squire Sanders Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group in London in 2001 and has acted primarily for financial institutions, insolvency practitioners and corporate clients.

Representative Experience

• Serving a nine month secondment to Barclays Bank PLC (Business Support teams) providing restructuring and insolvency advice relating to a wide range of businesses.
• Advising the board of directors on their obligations in relation to a distressed media distribution company and then acting for the subsequently appointed administrators in the administration of the business.
• Acting for a Swiss liquidator and advising on the cross-border insolvency regulations in relation to a shipping dispute in the UK.
• Advising a financier on insolvency and restructuring issues relating to a Premier League football club.
• Acting for the financier and trustee in bankruptcy in the tracing and recovery of assets following a £16 million fraud.
• Representing creditors on the creditors committee in the administration of Global Trader (Europe), a failed FSA-regulated derivatives broker.
• Acting for the liquidators in misfeasance claims against the former directors of a printing press business
• Serving a six month secondment to GE Capital advising the risk teams on restructuring and insolvency issues.
