Miriam Lampert is a partner in our Labour & Employment Practice, based in the London office.

Miriam has more than 20 years’ experience advising a wide range of UK and multinational corporate clients across a variety of sectors, including technology/fintech, recruitment, financial services, and media and marketing, on all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious.

A Hebrew speaker, Miriam is head of the firm’s Israel group and has significant experience of advising Israeli clients on employment issues globally, as well as acting as a central point of contact for them in respect of their broader legal needs. She also co-leads the Israeli Tech Parliament in London, the main networking group in London for Israelis who work in tech and non-Israelis involved in the Israeli tech scene.

Recognised by legal directories for her responsive, pragmatic and commercial advice, Miriam’s particular expertise includes advising on:

  • The planning and implementation of redundancy and change management programmes, many on a multijurisdictional basis
  • Practical aspects of the Transfer of Undertaking Regulations/ARD, including drafting and negotiating TUPE/ARD provisions in commercial agreements
  • Employment-related issues on mergers, sales, acquisitions and private equity and venture capital-backed transactions
  • Employee diversity and discrimination issues
  • Employee competition issues, including the enforcement of restrictive covenant and confidentiality obligations
  • Complex disciplinary, performance management and grievance issues
  • Managing ill health and stress in the workplace
  • Executive recruitment and severances

Miriam regularly represents clients on claims brought in the Employment Tribunals and has particular experience of acting for employers in relation to complex discrimination and whistleblowing claims. She also frequently runs training workshops and seminars for clients and contacts of the firm.

  • Leading a 15-office cross-jurisdictional employment team, advising a UK plc on the employment issues arising from the sale of part of its operations across the EMEA region.
  • Advising a range of media and marketing agencies on the practical and contractual implications of the Transfer of Undertaking Regulations/ARD in relation to numerous client service contracts, often on a multi-jurisdictional basis.
  • Advising an NYSE-listed technology company on the EMEA employment aspects of its acquisition of the assets of a finance sector research business. 
  • Advising a UK plc recruitment consultancy on the enforcement of restrictive covenant obligations against numerous of its former employees.
  • Advising various Israeli technology companies on employment issues in relation to their operations around the world.
  • Leading a global contract roll out for senior employees of a marketing services conglomerate, working with local counsel in over 20 countries to produce senior level employment contracts that were consistent in terms of brand and content, to the extent permitted by local law.
  • Acting for a bank in relation to a number of claims of whistleblowing, unfair dismissal and race discrimination.
  • Advising numerous clients on the conduct of complex and commercially sensitive disciplinary and grievance investigations and procedures.
  • Advising a marketing agency on the successful implementation of various collective redundancy programmes.
