Mia Burroughs Fraser focuses her practice on litigation in both state and federal courts. She represents clients in general commercial litigation matters, class action litigation, multidistrict and international litigation, and appeals. Mia has extensive jury and bench trial experience in both civil and criminal matters in state and federal court. She has represented clients in many industries including insurance, banking, manufacturing, aviation and finance.
Mia is the co-author of “Mentors Aid Careers, Companies,” published in
The Miami Herald in 2008. In 2004 Mia was named Newcomer of the Year
by the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association. In 2006 she was one of three nominees under the age of 30 selected by peers and honored by
Success South Florida, the leading publication for South Florida’s black community, in its 40 under 40 list honoring the 40 most influential young black business professionals. She has been selected each year since 2009 for inclusion in
Florida Super Lawyers–Rising Stars, published by Thomson Reuters, a distinction honoring the top up-and-coming lawyers, defined as 40 years of age and younger or in the practice of law for less than 10 years.
Mia is an active member of the John W. Kozyak Minority Mentor Program and the Dade County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section. She is a current board member and former chair of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Historical Society, founded by The Honorable Scott J. Silverman. She also is a member of the board of directors for His House Children’s Home, a nonprofit organization that provides residential care for abused, neglected and drug-exposed children. She formerly served on the executive board of the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association for three years. Mia was a founding member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami’s Impact Circle. She also provides
pro bono legal services through the Guardian ad Litem and Criminal Justice Act Programs.
