Matei Ujica Associate

Matei Ujica is associate in the intellectual property and technology practice in our Berlin office. He advises on a wide range of commercial and information technology matters. His particular expertise covers IT law, data protection compliance, law of the new media, intellectual property (including copyrights, designs and trade marks), unfair competition law and export controls. Matei also regularly represents clients in commercially determined civil and arbitration proceedings.

Before joining Squire Sanders, Matei has worked as a legal trainee in leading law firms in Berlin and New York as well as in the office of a German data protection authority.

• Advising the German subsidiary of a top international hotel group on data protection and competition law issues regarding its websites.
• Drafting agreements for clients and participants of an innovative market research online community; advising on internet-related and privacy issues.
• Advising on the commercial, intellectual property and IT law issues arising in several multi-million EUR corporate transactions, for clients in various industry sectors including IT, healthcare, engineering and services.
• Drafting standard terms and conditions for the sale and purchase of goods and services for various clients in a variety of industries and sectors including information technology, advertising, hospitality, retail, automotive, transportation and logistics.
