Mark Prior
Senior Associate

Mark is a Senior Associate in our Restructuring & Insolvency practice based in our Manchester office. His particular expertise covers commercial and legal issues involved in corporate recovery, turnaround and reconstruction, and insolvency law. Mark advises on all formal insolvency processes and has considerable experience in preparing and negotiating legal documentation for the sale or purchase of businesses and assets. Mark has also provided advice to directors on trading and prepared cases for court including injunctive relief proceedings and cases under the Insolvency Act 1986. In addition, Mark provides security and restructuring advice to clients. Mark is developing a strong presence in Manchester’s business recovery and insolvency community, and has delivered a number of presentations to various banks, financiers and accountants on key topics of insolvency law and practice.
Representative Experience
- Britannia Car Hire Services Limited - Acted for administrators of a regulated claims management business included drafting documentation, negotiating settlements, reviewing credit hire arrangements and advising on a complex claims management structure.
- Pointer Pet Foods Limited - Advised a consortium of investors on the acquisition of this significant pet food manufacturing operation, including the transfer of the workforce and health and safety aspects.
- Salisbury Hamer, Aspden & Johnson (Loss Assessors) Limited Advised administrators of an FSA regulated company, selling the business and assisting the administrators in their compliance with the statutory legal framework.
- Brooklands Health Farm Limited Advising on issues relating to the insolvency of a luxury health spa in north-west England, including the eventual disposition of the estate by administrators.
