Maren Ebner’s practice focuses on intellectual property law, particularly on trademarks and design patents in a variety of industries including consumer goods, computer software, logistics, publishing and hotel services.
In strategic terms, she is involved with trademark availability searches, clearance and trademark prosecution before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). She has responsibility in the worldwide trademark portfolio management of globally operating clients, as well as in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings. In addition, she has represented clients before German Customs and coordinated the work of foreign associates in the defense of intellectual property rights in counterfeiting cases with the customs authorities of other jurisdictions. She is also experienced on Internet domain name disputes under the rules of the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) and intellectual property due diligence.
She counsels a US-based consumer goods company with an international portfolio of nearly 1,500 trademarks registered in more than 170 countries and for which she provides regular correspondence, in depth insight of its strategic IP planning and knowledge of its products and markets.
Maren is a member of the Frankfurt Bar Association, the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR) and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
