Małgorzata Sajkiewicz’s practice focuses on corporate and corporate finance matters. She is also involved in international and national tax optimization, tax structuring and tax litigation before administrative courts in Poland. Possessing a solid knowledge of German language and law, she renders legal services to German-speaking clients.
Before joining Squire Sanders, Małgorzata was an associate in the Warsaw office of a global law firm for three years. She also has prior experience as a legal intern in law firms in Berlin, Munich and Wroclaw in the areas of IP, competition and German civil law.
Małgorzata is a member of the German-Polish Lawyers Society.
She is the author and co-author of a number of professional publications on commercial, financial and tax law including in
Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, a daily business and law newspaper in Poland,
Parkiet, a daily financial newspaper in Poland,
European Taxation,
German – Polish Lawyers Journal and
BNA International Global Tax Guide (editions 2009-2011).
Representative Experience
- Drafting and tax structuring independent contractors’ agreements for a global cable television network.
- Advising a China-based investor on launching a joint venture project with Poland-based partners in a special economic zone in Poland including corporate, trademark law, administrative and tax matters.
- Providing legal advice pertaining to the takeover of the branch office of a Germany-based bank in Poland by another Germany-based bank as a result of their merger in Germany.
- Structuring employee and managerial staff motivation plans based on financial instruments for a group of leading e-commerce and
e-communication platform operators in Central and Eastern Europe.
- Preparing a successful court appeal based on EU law for a France-based retail trading company against the tax chamber’s refusal to refund the overpaid civil law transactions tax the company paid on a loan granted to it by its shareholders in 2007-2008.
