Louise Taylor

Associate

Louise Taylor’s work focuses on all aspects of occupational pension provision, providing legal advice to both trustees and sponsoring employers of trust-based occupational pension plans.  Louise is also a director of The Trustee Corporation Limited and acts as trustee of a number of occupational pension plans.

Prior to joining the firm, Louise worked in the financial services industry for seven years, working for two major insurers and as an independent financial adviser.  Her experience included working with contract-based group pension plans and employee benefits.

Representative Experience

    • Advice to trustees of an occupational pension plan on the closure of the plan to future benefit accrual.
    • Application to the Pensions Regulator for a determination in relation to the validity of a retrospective amendment to an occupational pension plan.
    • Drafting of occupational pension plan documents in relation to the introduction of a salary sacrifice arrangement.
    • Acting as a scheme trustee in relation to the wind up of the scheme and buy out of members’ benefits.
    • Acting as a scheme trustee in relation to the scheme employer’s liability reduction exercise.
    • Acting as a scheme trustee for schemes entering into the Pension Protection Fund and the Financial Assistance Scheme.
    • Advice to the trustees of a scheme that was overfunded on its s.143 valuation and was therefore refused entry to the PPF.  Louise provided the trustees with guidance on making an application for reconsideration and an application to operate as a closed scheme.
