Laura Walsh is a lawyer in our Labor & Employment Practice Group based in our Leeds office.

Laura’s work is heavily litigation based, defending many of the department’s larger clients, including a large supermarket chain, in unfair dismissal and discrimination claims. Laura deals with all aspects of tribunal claims, from drafting the defence to conducting the advocacy at tribunal. Laura also has experience in advising clients on a variety of ad hoc queries and negotiating compromise agreements and settlements.

Representative Experience

• Advising in matters at tribunal, covering all areas of discrimination, unfair dismissals and redundancy for a range of clients including a large supermarket chain and a large car manufacturer.
• Advising a charity on its 90 day consultation procedure for terminating and re-engaging employees on new terms and conditions.
• Advising a large retailer on a TUPE transfer claim affecting up to 100 employees.
• Advising both individuals and companies on compromise agreements and agreed exits, and negotiating settlements and severance packages.
• Conducting corporate support work including due diligence and drafting corporate documents for large scale acquisitions.
• Advising on ad hoc employment queries.
• Leading training seminars for clients.
