Katrina M. Thompson

Katrina Thompson focuses her practice on real estate, commercial lending and economic development including low-income housing tax credits, new markets tax credits and historic rehabilitation tax credits.

Katrina represents investors, funds and financial institutions in the acquisition, financing, sale and disposition of real estate developments. These transactions frequently involve a variety of funding sources including traditional construction and permanent loans, equity, HUD insured loan products, Section 8 subsidies, nonprofit grants and exchange funds. She also represents lenders and borrowers in all aspects of commercial and real estate lending. Katrina also represents direct investors and syndicators in the acquisition of equity interests in low-income housing tax credit, new markets tax credit and historic rehabilitation tax credit projects and assists community development entities awarded new markets tax credits.

Katrina serves as the Social Media Chair of the Women Lawyers of Franklin County Board of Trustees and is a member of the second class of the YWCA’s Generation Y Leadership Program. Katrina is a member of the Forum on Affordable Housing & Community Development Law of the American Bar Association and is a member of the Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations

    • Representing direct investors and syndicators in conventional and bond-financed low-income housing tax credit projects.
    • Representing investors in the disposition of equity interests in low-income housing tax credit projects.
    • Representing financial institutions in connection with mortgage and asset-based loan transactions.
    • Representing the US Department of Treasury in connection with the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act’s Capital Purchase Program in making numerous investments in publicly traded and privately held banks and bank holding companies throughout the United States.
