Kevin Burge Senior Associate

Kevin Burge is a senior associate in our Pensions practice based in our Birmingham office.  He has a broad range of experience in pensions law.  His particular strengths lie in advising in relation to corporate transactions and dealings with regulatory bodies such as the Pensions Regulator.  He has recently been involved with a number of projects for clients, including advising trustees on employers’ refinancing arrangements, advising in relation to complex corporate transactions and scheme mergers.

Kevin has also acted as an independent trustee.

Kevin is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.

Representative Experience

• Advising the trustees of the Jessop Group final salary scheme in relation to the company’s refinancing proposals.
• Advising on a scheme merger involving a listed company.
• Advising Phoenix IT Group plc on its takeover of ICM Computer Group plc and subsequent advice regarding scheme funding.
• Advising an employer in relation to changes to future service benefit provision under its final salary scheme.
• Advising on a transaction involving the sale of employers from an underfunded scheme.
• Acting as professional trustee to the pension scheme of an engineering company.
• Advising in relation to the application of the employer debt regulations.
