Kate Leavesley

Kate Leavesley joined the Pensions team in 2010 having completed her training with the firm.
She advises on all aspects of occupational pension plan management including governance, legislative compliance, plan documentation, member queries and benefit change projects, both in respect of defined benefit and defined contribution arrangements. Kate’s clients include sponsoring employers and pension plan trustees.
Kate is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers. She is involved in the firm’s Business in the Community initiative and has participated in the Three Peaks Challenge and the 26 mile St Basil’s Walk.
Representative Experience

Advising the trustee of a large pension plan on a proposed investment and the associated employer-related investment issues.

Advising the pension plan trustee of a global transport and logistics company on the application of the later earnings addition in the context of a pension plan merger.

Advising a sponsoring employer on its scheme exit options including managing its section 75 liabilities both to its members and in relation to significant orphan liabilities.

Advising a large pension plan on the possibility of making complex retrospective amendments to the plan's RPI / CPI position.
