Jeffrey J. Wedel


Jeffrey Wedel is an experienced practitioner of labor and employment law and focuses his practice on litigating employment, safety and health matters. He has been listed in Ohio Super Lawyers since 2010 and in The Best Lawyers in America each year since 2006.

Jeffrey has extensive trial experience and regularly defends private sector employers in all forms of employment discrimination, retaliation and wrongful discharge cases. He has defended employers in several states including Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Georgia and Connecticut. His experience includes defending employers against charges before the EEOC, Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Department of Labor and other administrative agencies. Jeffrey also defends employers and manufacturers in the workplace, intentional torts, chemical exposure and other toxic tort claims. He represents employers in ERISA litigation, enforcement and defense of confidentiality agreements, covenants not to compete and trade secret agreements, counseling management and human resources personnel in hiring and termination of employees, employment practices, accommodation of disabilities and religious practices, and Family and Medical Leave Act matters.

Jeffrey is a member of the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Law section and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and serves as Squire Sanders’ panel counsel liaison in the state of Ohio for employment practice liability, fiduciary and D&O claims for a major insurance carrier
