Julian Juhasz

Julian Juhasz is the managing partner of the Bratislava office and has oversight responsibility for Squire Sanders’ Bratislava practice. Julian is experienced in general corporate law and related matters. He has received law degrees from both Commenius University in Bratislava, the Slovak Republic and Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. He is admitted to practice in the Czech Republic, Ontario, Canada and as European Advocate in the Slovak Republic. Julian’s dual education and admissions make him uniquely positioned to provide legal services in cross-border transactions, in particular those involving parties from both civil as well as common law jurisdictions.
Julian is widely recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the Slovak Republic with regular high rankings in
Chambers Global, Chambers Europe and Practical Law Company publication rankings. With more than 15 years of experience in structuring and implementing transactions in the Slovak Republic, Julian brings a wealth and depth of experience to transactions. He has led numerous acquisition transactions on behalf of multinational entrants into the Slovak market, counseled on Slovak financings in excess of €2 billion and has managed more than 50 real estate development projects. In addition, he has assisted with structuring joint venture agreements, licensing procedures and distribution arrangements, and has advised companies and the government on a range of corporate and commercial issues. Widely regarded for his practical hands-on business approach, Julian assists clients with not only the legal aspects of any given matter, but with the underlying commercial realities and a strong sense of what is and what is not achievable in the Slovak market.
Julian is co-author of the articles “Privatization in the Czech Republic,” published in
International Privatization by Kluwer Law International in 1996, and “Company Formation,” published by Global Business Publishing Ltd. in 2006.
Julian is the director of the Czech and Slovak Legal Information Council of Canada and of the Slovak Canadian Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic.
