J.B. Murray is the managing partner of Squire Sanders’ West Palm Beach office and focuses his practice on probate and trust litigation, product liability and commercial litigation. He has extensive experience in federal and state courts and various arbitration forums.
J.B. is named as one of Florida’s Legal Elite by
Florida Trend Magazine and in South Florida’s Up and Comers by
South Florida Legal Guide. Each year since 2007 he has been selected for inclusion in
Florida Super Lawyers, published by Thomson Reuters, a distinction based on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement that recognizes the top 5 percent of lawyers in Florida.
In his probate litigation practice, J.B. represents beneficiaries and corporate and individual fiduciaries. He has prosecuted and defended claims involving alleged undue influence and lack of capacity, trust disputes involving alleged breaches of fiduciary duties, contested guardianship proceedings, tortious interference claims, fiduciary accountings and disputes regarding Florida’s Principal and Income Act. His corporate clients include several of the leading US banks and trust companies. J.B. is a regular speaker on probate and trust issues.
A significant portion of J.B.’s practice involves commercial litigation. J.B.’s experience in this area covers a broad range of business disputes including contract disputes, noncompete agreements, real property claims and corporate control issues. He has successfully arbitrated claims before the American Arbitration Association and JAMS/ENDISPUTE. J.B. has also represented manufacturers in the defense of product liability claims including those involving spinal implants, OxyContin®, VIOXX®, chemicals, seatbelts, asbestos and Factor VIII blood clotting products. He has extensive experience with multidistrict litigation in federal courts.
J.B. was raised in Palm Beach County, Florida and is on the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, the Palm Beach Zoo and the Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adults.
