James Fielding

Before joining the firm in 2007, James Fielding worked for a private firm drafting a range of commercial documents with a focus on property related transactions and projects. James also worked as an associate to a Federal Court judge for a year where he was able to observe the court’s practices and procedures and gained useful insights in advocacy.
Since joining Squire Sanders, James has been working in the litigation practice. James has been devoting the majority of his time to defending claims for insurers and corporations and recovering debts due for individuals, government bodies and corporations.
James has entered appearances in the Dispute Resolution Directorate of WA, Magistrates Court of WA, District Court of WA, Supreme Court of WA, Federal Magistrates Court of Australia and the Federal Court of Australia.
James has been involved in both court work and negotiations both informal and court-directed formal pre-trial conferences and mediations.
James has presented both internally and externally on a range of insurance, professional negligence, court practice and procedure and workplace accident related topics.
