Jacek Wiśniewski

Senior Associate

Jacek Wiśniewski’s practice focus is mergers and acquisitions, corporate and finance issues.

Jacek has considerable experience in advising multinational and Poland-based clients during company buyouts, due diligence reviews and transformations of commercial companies. He also advises on finance issues including acquisition financing, consumer finance and leasing, and sale and leaseback transactions.

Prior to joining Squire Sanders, Jacek was a senior associate in the corporate M&A practice in the Warsaw office of an international law firm.

In 2010 Jacek was invited to speak on the legal framework of distressed asset investment in Poland for US investors and lawyers at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York.

Representative Experience

    • Advising a US-based corporation during the launch of a consumer finance (cash loans) project in Poland and providing day-to-day advice for the subsidiary in Poland.
    • Advising an international renewable energy development and investment firm in the planned acquisition of a group of wind farms being developed in central Poland.
    • Advising an international renewable energy development and investment firm in the sale (assignment) of project rights to part of a wind farm to be developed in central Poland.
    • Advising a private equity investor on acquisition finance issues relating to a fund's successful investment in Poland.
    • Advising an international renewable power producer on the planned acquisition of shares in a special purpose vehicle (SPV) created for the development of a wind farm in central Poland.
    • Acting for one of the largest Internet, book and media retail companies in Europe during a pre-acquisition due diligence review of the Poland-based publishing house, Świat Książki.
    • Advising a UK-based investor on the acquisition of a private label production company in Poland.
    • Advising a Spain-based client on a joint venture project in Poland.
    • Advising an international DIY retail group on a real estate sale and leaseback transaction.
    • Advising the Polish branch of a Germany-based publisher on the acquisition of Kurier Lubelski, a newspaper in Poland.
    • Advising a Denmark-based client on the acquisition of a catering business in Poland.
    • Advising a worldwide supplier of fresh produce on a significant real estate leasing transaction related to a logistics center in Poland.
