Our extensive practice in the energy industry includes representing participants on projects around the world. Our lawyers have handled some of the most noteworthy energy projects, including many that were the first of their kind in their respective countries. Our work includes analyzing, negotiating and preparing commitment letters and all finance-related documentation. And because many energy projects are financed on a nonrecourse or limited recourse basis, we draw on our energy development experience to advise our clients on the full range of issues that can affect those financings.

Through the years, we have been involved in matters relating to nearly every aspect of the energy business: oil exploration, transportation and marketing; natural gas pipeline acquisition; electric utility ratemaking; regulatory and securities issues; major antitrust litigation involving utilities; and energy project development and finance. In recent years, we have developed particular expertise in the financing of energy generation projects and in renewable energy projects in particular.
