A Masterclass on International Business Thinking

Date: 28 February 2012
Time: 8am to 11am
Location: Etihad Stadium, Manchester

The focus on exports in the Chancellor's Autumn Statement gives a clear indication of how important it is to the economic recovery that UK companies look to overseas markets for growth. North West businesses need to look beyond Europe and, for many, the opportunities for growth will come from the emerging economies.

However, moving into new markets can be a major challenge, not least because of cultural differences. We are therefore delighted to offer you the ideal opportunity to learn more about doing business internationally, reinforced by the first hand experiences of our two industry speakers, Tom Hughes and Jim McDonnell and the experience of others who have done it and can help you with pitfalls and top tips.

Speaker Profiles

Keynote speaker: Keith Warburton, Founder of Global Business Culture

Keith is an international recognised conference speaker and business advisor bringing years of professional experience in global business culture to our event, which promises to question our common perceptions of business across cultures. Keith’s clients include ExxonMobil, NCR, Johnson Matthey and RIM (‘Blackberry’).

Business Master Class Speaker: Tom Hughes, Olaer Group

As Commercial Director of this global industrial component manufacturer, Tom will share his first hand experiences of growing and managing his business internationally from the North West of England. Olaer operate from some 20 international locations around the world including Australia, France, India, China, Spain & USA.

Business Master Class Speaker: Jim McDonnell - Managing Director - Vimto International
