Ian is a Consultant in the Corporate Finance team at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey (UK) LLP. He was Head of the Leeds Office from 2002 to 2007. His particular expertise covers over 30 years' experience in corporate finance, in particular in mergers and acquisitions of both public and private companies, Purple and Blue Book transactions, IPOs and secondary offerings, private equity and joint ventures.

    • Acting for Great Lakes Chemical Corporation in relation to its UK reorganisation, US$300m refinancing, and demerger of Octel Corp on the New York Stock Exchange with a market capitalisation of US$300m.
    • Acting for Allied Textile Companies PLC in relation to the £99.4m recommended cash offer from management backed by 3i.
    • Acting for Ellis & Everard plc in relation to the £310m recommended cash offer by Royal Vopak NV.
    • Acting for Q Park NV on the £36m acquisition of the car parking business of Town Centre Securities plc.
    • Acting for Jabil Circuit Inc on certain European aspects of the €325m acquisition of Phillips Contract Manufacturing Division.
    • Acting for Bon Marché Group on its £75m disposal to The Peacock Group PLC.
    • Acting for LDC and Management on the MBO of American Golf Discount Centre Limited.
    • Acting for Rensburg plc on the £185m acquisition of Henderson Crosthwaite Limited by way of reverse takeover.
