Weiheng Jia represents clients from Japan, the United States, Europe, Africa and the Middle East in addition to China-based companies in foreign direct investment, international transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. He also has experience in bankruptcy, dissolution and restructuring, having represented a number of non-China-based corporate clients in withdrawing their investments. Weiheng regularly advises clients interested in opportunities in China on general corporate, labor and employment, and other laws and regulations in China. He has counseled multinational corporate clients in antibribery laws including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and its People’s Republic of China counterpart laws and regulations. Weiheng has significant aviation industry experience assisting clients with aircraft leases, airline joint ventures, aircraft ownership and mortgage registration, as well as on various projects related to the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China. He maintains a wide range of clients including companies in the aviation, telecommunication, chemical, tourism and hospitality, education, consumer and electronic products manufacturing, and automotive industries.
Prior to joining Squire Sanders, Weiheng served as an associate at a New York law firm where he handled a wide range of cases including corporate acquisitions and dissolutions, real estate transactions, business immigration issues and litigation before New York state courts and federal courts.
