Legal Week National Client Satisfaction Report 2010
21 December 2010
Hammonds LLP has been ranked first in Legal Week's annual Client Satisfaction Report, a survey ranking the UK's largest law firms according to feedback from the UK's largest companies.
The survey, now in its seventh year, canvassed the opinions of over 850 senior in-house lawyers and finance directors at over 900 UK companies. The survey asked questions of senior in-house lawyers, collecting their perceptions of how effective their four main external legal advisors performed over the previous 12 months.
The survey looked at seven main criteria - quality of legal advice, quality of commercial advice, service delivery, partner relationship, cost and billing transparency, use of technology and availability of alternative billing options.
Hammonds features highly in all the performance categories and was quoted as performing extremely strongly in a difficult national market with some outstanding scores for quality of legal advice and partner relationships. The firm comes first out of the 19 firms included in the national firm section and beats the national average on all seven categories measured in this report with a score of 7.5.
The major theme running through the comments is the role of Hammonds' partners in service delivery with quotes such as "Smart, responsive, pro active, easy to work with and a good range of commercial services".
Commenting on the top ranking, Hammonds Managing Partner, Peter Crossley said: "We are delighted with the results of the client satisfaction survey which is a great achievement for Hammonds and reflects our continued focus on building lasting relationships with our clients.
Our achievement is a great reflection of the excellent work carried out across the firm over the past 12 months and going forward our strong tradition of client focus is being matched by that of Squire Sanders & Dempsey, which will create a formidable global practice when we combine in January".
