From its office in Houston, Squire Sanders serves a growing number of regional, national and international corporations. Anticipating the need to serve clients headquartered or operating in Texas, the US Southwest and worldwide, we opened the Houston office in 1997 and have seen its practice grow to serve energy, chemical, technology, manufacturing and industrial clients in a wide array of matters, but primarily in energy law, construction law and litigation.

Our Regional Presence

As part of our international energy practice, the Houston office team offers a wide range of legal services to the energy business. These include project development, corporate transactions and dispute resolution. In all of these areas, our lawyers handle both domestic (US) and international assignments. Our clients include landowners, exploration and production companies, oilfield service providers and equipment manufacturers, utilities, pipelines, marketers, traders and distributors. We also represent buyers and sellers under long-term commodity purchase and sale agreements. The Houston litigation group regularly represents owners and contractors in a variety of energy-focused litigation and in construction disputes primarily involving the development and operation of energy infrastructure projects. In addition, the Houston office regularly involves professionals from throughout our global legal practice to provide services to clients in a variety of other areas including environmental, labor, tax, immigration, finance and international trade issues. 

As with Squire Sanders as a whole, the Houston office devotes considerable attention to providing legal support for international projects and for a growing number of non-US clients transacting business in the Houston area. Recent matters handled by the Houston office have involved clients and projects in the UK, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium, France, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Panama, Mexico, and Peru, India, China, Japan, Canada, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.
