H. Cort Doughty’s real estate and real estate finance practice encompasses a variety of transactions including multistate commercial real estate acquisitions, development, divestitures, leasing, financing, 1031 exchange structures, construction and architect’s contracts. Prior to his work with Squire Sanders, he served as senior counsel and corporate officer responsible for all real estate legal matters to an international Fortune 500 corporation.

Cort is a member of the Real Estate Committee of the Columbus Bar Association. He is a founding board member of Columbus Bar Service, Inc. and a fellow member of the Columbus Bar Foundation.

Representative Experience

• Representing a major logistics company in the sale of existing warehouses and in purchasing undeveloped land in 10 states, handling development and zoning, construction and related contracts, financing and other aspects in the formation of large warehouse distribution centers.
• Negotiating the purchase and development of agricultural land for residential use.
• Representing landlords and tenants in leasing transactions involving office, warehouse and industrial properties.
