Hana Čekalová Local Counsel

Hana Čekalová’s primary practice focus is general financial services and corporate matters.

Prior to joining Squire Sanders, Hana was a legal trainee with a leading commercial law firm in Prague, where she gained experience in matters relating to business, corporate, competition, and intellectual property law. Hana’s experience also includes advising on labor law matters.

Hana’s finance experience includes representing banks and private borrowers in bilateral and syndicated loans, export credit transactions, project finance transactions and bond issues.

Her experience with mergers and acquisitions involves assisting large international clients with corporate, commercial and labor matters on an ongoing basis.

• Representing a Czech Republic-based export bank in financing the construction and operation of shopping centers, plants and office space centers in the Russian Federation.
• Advising a Czech Republic-based export bank on providing a pre-export loan.
• Advising a municipality on municipal bond issuance.
• Representing a group of Czech Republic-based banks in connection with refinancing using senior and working capital loans.
• Advising a lender on the secured financing of an aircraft exported to Brazil.
• Advising a financial institution on financing an acquisition of Czech Republic-based companies.
• Advising an international financial institution on securing a credit facility.
• Participating in an international team advising an Iceland-based bank.
• Advising the largest Czech Republic-based television company on corporate and intellectual property matters.
• Advising on a number of acquisitions of Czech Republic-based companies
• Advising the Czech Republic on insolvency proceedings.
• Advising Czech Republic-based companies and their headquarters on labor law matters.
